What this site is
Final Grade Calculator is a set of free grade tools for US students, teachers, and parents. Every calculator answers a specific, stressful question — what do I need on the final? where does my class grade stand? — instantly, with the formula shown, and without asking you to sign up for anything.
How the tools work
Each calculator implements the standard weighted-average math that US schools use, and shows its formula on the page so you can check the work by hand. The letter-grade mappings follow the common 4.0 scale, and every page reminds you that your own syllabus wins whenever policies differ — rounding, exam weights, drop-lowest rules, and exemptions vary by school and by instructor.
Privacy, by design
All calculations run in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted or stored on a server; inputs are kept only on your own device so they’re still there when you come back during finals week. The full details are in our privacy policy.
Independence
This is an independent website. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any school, district, university, testing agency, or learning platform. Product names that appear on tool pages — such as Canvas or PowerSchool — belong to their owners and are used only to describe where you can find your own grades.
Open data
The letter-grade scale, district grading policies, and formulas behind these tools are published as an open dataset: us-grading-data on GitHub, licensed CC BY 4.0. Every district data point cites its official source.
Corrections and suggestions
Grading policies evolve, and clear explanations matter to us. If you spot an error, a confusing sentence, or a grading pattern your school uses that our tools don’t cover, tell us — fixes ship quickly.
